What is this place?

This website is a central hub for all things PowerX64. You can find information about the PowerX64 project, and all of what's taking place in it. Currently, this project focuses on game development, and the YouTube channels, which are focused on computers and other devices.

What is the aim of the PowerX64 project?

The PowerX64 project does not really have a goal, its just a collection of projects that I want to share, and make easy to access. I also want to ensure that users of any PowerX64 products or services can easily find information on them, give feedback, and stay up-to-date with whats new. One thing I can tell you about the PowerX64 project, is that we like to merge the best of the past with the best of the present, in order to avoid an undesirable future. For example, this website is designed to look like its from the early 2000s, but its hosted on a modern platform. Opinions are subjective, but I think this website looks cool compared to the flat modern stuff.

Who are the people behind this project?

Currently, its just me. Sometimes you'll see pages written as if there is a group of people behind this, but that simply is not the case.

History Of This Project, from PowerCat, to PowerX64.

Originally, this website was created purely for fun. I got the inspiration form a YouTube video showcasing FrontPage 98, so I downloaded FrontPage 2003 (then later 2002) and made this site. This website was more of a personal site in its early days, showcasing things I owned like computers, TVs and whatever else I found interesting. The ActionCentre used to be that page. There was once something called the LaughCentre (formerly, funny page) on this site, where funny images were uploaded, but I removed that eventually. We used to have an "Interests" page, but that too was also removed in an attempt to de-personalize the website.

As for the PowerX64 project, that kind of gradually came into being. Technically, the "project" started back in 2016, with the creation of the PowerX64 YouTube channels (see the channel page for more info) then I gradually kept making more and more things on the internet, until ending up with this mini ecosystem of projects. One thing that made all these projects similar is the naming scheme, for example, before the PowerX64 name, we had The PowerDog Game, PowerDog's Adventure, the PowerDog YouTube channels, PowerDog OnLine, etc, and before that PowerDog name and the existence of this website, we had PowerCat, which was the same thing but with Cat in the name instead of Dog. it took until 2024 to come up with the idea to just label all this stuff as a part of one project, that being, the PowerX64 project.

The Recent Name Change

As of April 23, 2024, PowerX24 has changed the name of its services to PowerX64. Why did we ditch the PowerX24 name? This is because the name did not have solid meaning. The "X24" prefix never meant anything, so we changed it to "X64" to represent 64-bit computing, since the website is highly focused on digital content creation, and computers. Existing links to powerx24.neocities.org and powerdog.neocities.org now redirect here. We have also put out another logo design along with this name change, one that is a nice balance of simplicity and style.
